A Pair of Boots

By Becky Vandenberg

A man went to a cobbler

And asked for a pair of boots.

The cobbler said to the man,

“But, you only have one foot!”

The man said, “The other…

Is for my brother.

He only has one, too.”

With sturdy new leathers,

They locked arms together.

The brothers skipped with a beat.

Then, took off running,

For a mile. Quite stunning!

But, just a half-mile each.
